Are Geox really water resistant?

Are Geox really water resistant?

We know that Geox shoes are breathable as they have tiny holes in the sole centred around where the sweat glands are found in the foot. These special soles are claimed to allow sweat out while the special patented membrane inside the sole will keep feet dry from puddles and the rain.

We decided to test this theory with our two best selling styles, Geox Crush and Geox Savage. See the results in the video below.

Katie is testing two worn Geox shoes, one pair of Crush and one pair of Savage. Both have been worn as a school shoe for the last 4 months as part of our Back to School test to find tough and durable school shoes.

To test whether the Geox shoes leak we submerged them in water with a little bit of food colourant added to it would be easier to see if the shoes let in any water.

We firstly tested Geox Savage and used blue food colourant and a clean white sock inside the shoe. The school shoe was submerged for 5 minutes and when we came back not one bit of dye had seeped on to the sock and the inside of the shoe was bone dry.

Then it was time to test Geox Crush . We completed exactly the same process, only changing the colour of the food dye to red. The results were exactly the same, after five minutes submerged in water the white socks were still completely clean and the inside of the shoe was dry and unaffected.

Test results – Pass
