Paul Stewart’s IronSpine Challenge 2013.

In December 2008, Paul Stewart, a good friend of The Golden Boot, fell 200ft down a mountain while snowboarding at La Plagne in the French Alps.

He sustained a spinal cord injury which left him partially paralysed and completely changed his life.

Paul spent six months in Stoke Mandeville hospital after his accident and it is from here he begins his epic IronSpine Challenge.

This gruelling 15 day journey begins on the 6th August 2013 with a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile cycle, a 26.2 mile walk and culminates with a return to La Plagne and a ciff-face climb up the mountain he fell from.

His goal is to raise money for vital research into spinal cord injury repair.

The Golden Boot is proudly sponsoring Paul in partnership with Merrell shoes and Loake Shoemakers.
