School Shoes- Tested to the Max!!

School Shoes- Tested to the Max!!

For Back to School 2012 we are so confident in the quality of the footwear that we sell that we have decided to test our bestsellers to their absolute limits.

Firstly we wanted to see how they performed in the normal school environment and so with the help of 5 children we put them to the test. The shoes were worn to school and on some weekends for 4 whole months to see how they stood up to normal tear and wear.

During the 4 months the children completed several missions which they had to complete to test the quality of the school shoes.

The missions were designed to test the shoes just as normal kids do. We tried the designs out on scooters and bikes, kitted the children out with pedometers to see just how far they walk in a normal school day, checked just how easy they were to get on and off and looked how they coped with mud and wet weather.

Maddie wore Startrite Venus.

Maddie loves playing marbles at school and never bothers to undo the Velcro to take her shoes on and off!

Maddie’s Mum looks for hard wearing and comfortable shoes at a reasonable price.

Connor wore Geox Savage.

Our Star Wars Fanatic Connor had his second pair of Geox Savage to complete the test.

Connor’s Mum said that they find it difficult to find shoes that fit and feel comfortable because he has narrow ankles and feet.

Francis wore Clarks Air Surrey.

Francis was very excited to test the shoes to their limits, he wanted to get his muddy to see how they coped.

Francis’ Mum warned us that Francis is very tough on his shoes.

Archie wore Rhino Anaconda.

Archie’s Mum says that he is really active both at school and home and so his school shoes get a lot of wear.

Archie was very excited to get his first pair of lace shoes as he had been practicing especially!

Pip wore Clarks Dollyglitz.

Pip was very excited when she was fitted with her new shoes for the testing as her best friend has the same pair.

Pip uses her scooter a lot and loves to play with skipping ropes at school.

Here is what the shoes looked like at the end of the 4 months-

You can definitely see that Maddie likes to play marbles as there is scuffing at the toe.

Startrite Venus is great for Maddie as the leather is dyed all the way through so that scuffs do not show up as much.

As you can see Connor really put Geox Savage through their paces!

The shoes did really well during the 4 months, the tough scuff bumper at the toe is great to prevent scuffing and the sporty design is perfect for active kids.

As Francis is really tough on his shoes Clarks Air Surrey did pretty well.

Francis was happy with the shoes and found them comfortable to wear which is a real bonus as he has really wide feet!

Archie’s got on very well with his laces and will definitely go for another pair in September.

Rhino Anaconda still looks good after 4 months of wear.  The school shoes have survived lots of football, running and general fun in the school playground.

Clarks Dollyglitz survived the 4 months of normal school wear very well.

Pip was pleased that they still looked smart right to the very end, (her mum polished them every Friday after school).

At the end of the 4 months we checked the fit of all 5 shoes and all but Maddie’s still had a little extra room at the toe.

All 5 pairs of school shoes from Clarks, Startrite, Geox and Rhino survived the initial wear and tear test but this wasn’t enough! We wanted to test the performance of the shoes further and so we passed them on to our in house shoe testing lab to see how they did in extreme situations. To find out more click on the link below.
