WKPM 20th September 2014
We arrived bright and early at Marden ready for the WKPM (Weald of Kent Ploughing Match), I must add ploughing had already begun at 7.30am! We were here no not to plough, but to showcase some selected country clothing and footwear from our Mens, Ladies and Childrens departments at The Golden Boot: Featuring Hunter, Dubarry, Seeland, R.M Williams and Barbour.
We were not really sure what to expect from the event but we wanted to focus on promoting what we had to offer and what The Golden Boot is all about, which was a great opportunity to do so in different surroundings. It was lovely to meet and introduce ourselves to some new customers, of whom we hope to see back in our store sometime soon.
The event was a huge success, from 9am it was bustling with lots of familiar faces and plenty of crowds. It was a really good atmosphere with lots of friendly people, it made the day really enjoyable and we were pleased to have been a part of it. It turned out from a phone call back to the store that we were busier in the field than we were back at the shop. We were thankful the weather held out and we hope to be back next year with a lot more tweed!
