The Golden Boot is a truly local family owned firm. Established in 1790 and still owned and managed by the same family, many Maidstonians and residents of the surrounding areas have grown up with the business. We always hear our customers talking about their love of an independent business and the certain set of core values that exist within them which is often difficult to find in the big multiples.
Speaking with customers its often very enlightening when you find out what they do, so we thought it a great opportunity to seek a few businesses with a similar set of core values to our own and run a few collaborative projects. The emphasis has been on our window displays but also trying to make a visit to The Golden Boot as exciting as possible.
Introducing The Golden Boot X Simply Ice Cream.
Sally Newall and her family are good customers of The Golden Boot. Sally ran a catering business for over 20 years, however her real passion was making ice cream. Incredible feedback from happy customers for her homemade ice cream led Sally to decide to move away from full time catering and concentrate on developing Simply Ice Cream.
In keeping with her beliefs that simple, natural food tastes best, she has created a range of ice creams that are made using natural locally sourced ingredients (where possible), home-made flavours and free from additives or preservatives. Simply Ice Cream is still made the old fashioned way, by hand in small batches. The superior quality and flavour of Simply Ice Cream has been officially recognised and offer a multi-award winning range, including a Guild of Fine Food, Great Taste Gold Three Star award for their Heavenly Honeycomb Crunch, the highest accolade judged by great taste and texture.
Simply Ice Cream is available in nearly 400 outlets across the south of England including 42 Waitrose stores. If you don’t already know of Simply Ice Cream we wanted to let you know just how yummy it is, so for the next month in our women’s department we will be offering our customers a tub of Simply Ice Cream for £1 with every purchase. What’s more all the proceeds from the sale of the ice cream will be donated to Demelzia House children’s hospice.

The Golden Boot X Jakes Orchard Cider
The Hush Heath Estate is located near Staplehurst, Kent. With its fine soils and mild climate, Kent as the “Garden of England” has a long and famous history of fruit growing.
